FIPS7 was organized on May 30-31 in Turku, by the Peptide division of the Finnish Biobio Society in collaboration
with the Finnish Graduate School Network in Life Sciences and supported by the National Graduate School in Informational and Structural Biology, Finnish pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies and Finnish Biobio Society.
2004
The Sixth Peptide Symposium in Finland (link to poster): The 2004 symposium
was on May 13-14, at Viikki Infocentre, Helsinki and
organized in collaboration with the Helsinki Garduate School
in Biotechology and Molecular Biology and the Helsinki Biomedical
Graduate School and with the BioBio Society.
2002
The Fifth Peptide Symposium in Finland: The 2002 symposium
was held in Kuopio on August 22 and 23, in Hotel Rauhalahti.
The topics of the symposium were Modeling and NMR analyses,
Synthesis strategies, Membrane associated peptides and Protein
interaction sites and Target peptides.
2001
The Fourth Peptide Symposium in Finland: The 2001 symposium
was held on the 19th-20th of April at Biomedicum,Meilahti
at Helsinki and organized in collaboration with Helsinki
Graduate School in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology (Dr.
Erkki Raulo) and BioBio society (Carmela Kantor-Aaltonen
and Hilkka Lankinen).
2000
The Third Peptide Symposium in Finland: The 2000 symposium
was arranged by Drs. Jari Hovinen and Veli-Matti Mukkula,
Wallac Oy, Perkin Elmer raizing the number of participants
over sixty. The highlight of the meeting was its wide range
of biological applications, which were combined to topics
of peptide proteomics technologies.
1999
The Second Peptide Symposium in Finland: The 1999 symposium
was organized by Dr. Ale Närvänen. “The
First Peptide Symposium in Kuopio” at the Department
of Chemistry, Kuopio University had its focus in peptide
synthesis and structure.
1998
The First Annual Peptide Syposium in Finland: The 1998 symposium
was held in collaboration with Helsinki Graduate School
in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology (Dr. Ilkka Kilpeläinen
and Professor Heikki Rauvala, Institute of Biotechnology)
and BioBio Society peptide division (Carmela Kantor-Aaltonen
and Hilkka Lankinen). The symposium "Biophysical and
Structural Methods in Analysis of Protein-Ligand Interactions"
took place on the 13th-14th of February at Biocentre, University
of Helsinki.
1997
The Second Practical Training Course in Synthetic Peptides
in Immunology: The course "Structure-Function Analysis
of Haematopoietic Growth factors" was held in Helsinki
in June 1997. It was chaired by R.P. Revoltella, L. C. Andersson
and O. Acuto and sponsored by the European Union. The contribution
by Professor Leif Andersson (Department of Pathology, Haartman
Institute) to the peptide science in Finland is gratefully
acknowledged. The course was organized by Dr. Tiina Pessa-Morikawa
(Department of Biochemistry, University of Helsinki).
